Often marketed as Cleopatra Island, Sedir is both an archaeological site and a protected natural area. The official museum record identifies the ancient settlement as Kedrai. Its surviving theatre and other ruins give a visit a different character from a swimming-only boat day.

Sedir is also known as Cleopatra Island. Compare the transfer to the Gökova departure point, the boat route and the time available on the island. Allow time for both the ancient site and the coast.

1. A Marmaris departure can involve a road transfer to Çamlı before the boat journey. Sedir is in the Gulf of Gökova, so check the embarkation point instead of assuming a Marmaris harbour departure.
2. Give the island itself enough time: a beach-focused visit and a walk among Kedrai’s remains call for a different balance of walking, shade and swimming.
3. Agree on the return boat and boarding time before leaving the pier. Follow the protected-site signs and leave the island’s sand where it belongs.

The route may change with weather and visitor restrictions.
